Headphone test: left, right, phase, distortion
Test headphones, AirPods or Galaxy Buds in your browser: play left and right separately, check polarity, sweep 20 Hz–20 kHz, test the mic and each earbud's battery.
✓ Pass if
- Sound comes from the right side, both sides equally loud
- In phase sounds focused in the middle of your head
- The sweep is smooth, with no distortion on either side
✗ Fail if
- One side is quieter, distorted or silent
- In phase sounds more hollow than out of phase (reversed polarity)
- Crackling or buzzing in part of the range, especially the bass
